Sandhill Centre Track
The track was orginally near rectangular in shape and the more easterley straight was 200m/220y in length. An aerial picture from 1996 suggests that the track surface was black coloured and that the extended straight had probably been grassed over. The track is on the grounds of Sandhill View School which was rebuilt in 2002 and the community use Sandhill Centre incorporated. The track rebuilt as a 200m J-shaped track in 2003. All this work was done by Jarvis as Private Finance Initiative (PFI) with the local council. A track associated with Thorney Close M.S.S. which presumably is the old name of the school is mentioned in the AW 1962 list of cinder tracks. The track is in the locality of Thorney Close.
