Metupa Track
This track is immediately west of the synthetic track at Monkton Stadium and the two tracks are the closest two in the UK. It was used as a warm-up track in the 1999 WAVA (vets) Champs. The surface is dolomite and it is in reasonable condition. Nowadays the track does not tend to be referred to by any particular name but it was commonly called the Metupa track. This was because the track was established by three local companies one of which was a MEtal company, the second a steel TUbing company and the third was called PAlmer's Dry Dock - hence METUPA. There is a hammer cage for this track in a back field about 100 metres away from the top bend.
