Gosling Stadium
Gosling Sports Park which comprises numerous sports pitches and a ski slope was originally opened in 1959 and they have their own website. The track was originally cinder and was upgraded to synthetic in 1987 with the opening meeting on 31st August. There is a banked 460m cycle velodrome around the outside of the running track. The extra lane on the home straight is inside the others. The covered stand was closed during 2000 but in spring 2001 was fitted with new seats to reduce its capacity below 500 to take it outside the fire regulations for stands of that size. The track was also been cleaned for the 2001 season and some minor repairs completed. The external cage with a single circle is thought to have gone out of use in 2000 due to nearby building works.
