Lucas Aerospace Sports Ground Track
The track was red cinder and believed to have been built in 1958 at the same time as the adjacent works which was originally owned by Lucas Rotax. The track surface is now grass which has grown over the original cinder. It obviously hasn't been used for serious athletics for some time. The infield is a football pitch. Until 1999 the works were owned by Lucas Aerospace Ltd. and had green signs but following the acquisition of LucasVarity by TRW they are now owned by TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) and all the signs are red.
