Fawcett's Field Track
This is a very well maintained grass track with the lane markings permanently ingrained by the use of some sort of 'weedkiller'. The infield is a football pitch. The track was the brainchild of Gordon Pirie who campaigned for some athletics facilities in the New Milton area while he lived in Hordle just down the road before his death. There is also a floodlit 900m trim trail around the edge of the track although as of late 2002 the lights have been vandalised and the host club are negotiating with the town council to replace them with high level lights. The track appears to be open all the time for casual use although there is a sign at the ground saying that booking enquiries should be made to the local council on 01425 619120. The track is adjacent to the football stadium used by Lymington & New Milton FC whose clubhouse seems to be shared with Fawcett's Field Social Club (telephone 01425 628191).
