Mons Track
This cinder 440y track is behind the Aldershot Military Stadium synthetic track and they are one of the closest pairs of tracks in the UK - only those at Jarrow and possibly Ampleforth are closer. It was built in 1945 to serve the Mons Officer Cadet Barracks which are long since defunct. It is in fairly good condition but the surface is a little uneven and not considered suitable for sprint training. As no throws training is allowed within the Military Stadium, hirers of the track have access to both tracks. It is not clear which of the straights is the home one. It is thought to have been the one next to the stream that runs parallel to it as there is slight squared off area near the throwing cage but members of AFD tend to view the other straight as the home one when training.
