The track has been synthetic since at least the mid 1980s. It was resurfaced in summer 1999 with a Mondo Sportflex Super X Classic synthetic surface which looks like matting composed of narrow strips. The HJ area was upgraded to Mondo from the original surface in 2001. There is a small pavilion at the track which was built in 1999 to replace one that burnt down. The main changing rooms are in a building about 100m from the track in which there is a bar.
