This brand new facility opened for training in about July 1999 and was built by H.E. Construction Services Ltd. and has a Polytan WS surface. It was officially opened on 20th June 2000 by Kate Hoey, minister for sport. It cost ?650K with about ?500K coming from a Lottery Award and the rest raised locally. The track has a turnstile control and users need to obtain a coin from the adjacent Leisure Centre to gain entry. The track is in a pleasant rural location with views to the surrounding hills.
