This indoor straight is in a new Sports Hall which opened in September 1999 next to the Aldersley Stadium outdoor track. The lanes are 1.22m wide and every metre is marked on the "inside" lane instead of the various normal hurdle and other markings. The main contractor for the hall was Higgs and Hill with En-Tout-Cas laying the surface and the markings were done in January 1999 by Athletic Markings Ltd. The surface is light blue coloured and designed for sports hall floors rather than the more traditional synthetic track surfaces although it does take a spike.
