University of Bath Track
The synthetic track was built in 1994 on what was Norwood Playing Fields and originally had a Spurtan BS surface. It was relaid in 1997 with a Clubtrack surface. A Sports Training Village was built around the track and consists of a 50 metre swimming pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, football, rugby and cricket grass pitches and 2 all-weather hockey pitches. In addition, there is also a sports hall, badminton & squash courts and a 25 metre swimming pool. The reception is in the Sports Pavilion next to the track and upstairs is a Sports Caf? which looks out onto the track and has Sky TV, a licensed bar and serves hot and cold food. In 2000, the PV runway inside the top bend was removed and grassed over. Construction is started in autumn 2002 to build an indoor 132m straight at the track with full jumps & throws facilities which opened in late 2003. This means that the jumps runways have been moved to the other side of the track.
