Clairville Stadium
A cinder track and cycle velodrome was originally opened here in 1963 by the Duke of Edinburgh. It is yet to be established exactly when the track was upgraded to synthetic although it was by 1978. The stadium used to be called the Cleveland County Stadium. The track has 7 complete lanes plus an extra "lane" that varies from about 6" to 12" wide but it never seems to get used. The home straight has an extra 3 lanes marked as A, B and C. The site also includes fitness rooms, sauna, sunbeds, squash courts and a 455m cycle velodrome which surrounds the running track. There are plans to build a 82m indoor straight here.
