Wishaw Sports Centre Track
The track was built in 1980 as part of Wishaw Sports Centre but had become quite run down. The track closed on 10th June 2002 for resurfacing of the track and revamping of the field-event facilities. Deputy Provost of North Lanarkshire Council, Pat Donnelly, officially re-opened the track on 2nd November 2002. The contractor was Charles Lawrence and the new synthetic non-porous surface is Spiketop SW. There had been plans for a grandstand (by covering the terracing) and an indoor 100m straight but, as of Sep 2002, these have been put on hold. The track was the former training ground of Tom McKean and Yvonne Murray. .
