The track has a red blaes cinder surface and it is next to St. Patrick's Primary School so hence the name. It is also referred to as Kilsyth Sports Field. On the A-Z it is marked as a football ground. There is another football ground with a track in Kilysth at Duncansfield Park which is used by Kilysth Rangers FC.
