The track was originally cinder and was upgraded to a Spurtan BS synthetic surface in 1990. The track was resprayed in June 2001 by Charles Lawrence and relined by White Line Services. The infield is a football pitch used by Great Yarmouth FC. The straights are much shorter than standard and are about 70m long. The main stand is closed on safety grounds due to the Fire Safety & Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987.
