The Sporting Edge Track
The track was upgraded in 1997 as part of Edge Hill's ?4 million Lottery award when it was resurfaced, field event areas added and floodlighting installed. The M60 5K world record was broken on the track on 6th June 1998 with time of 16:24.0 by Southport Waterloo athlete Steve James. The track is one of a number of top quality sports facilities on offer at Edge Hill. Also available are an indoor sports hall, fitness suite, squash courts, grass pitches, synthetic Hockey and Football areas, Netball and Tennis courts and a licensed bar and refreshment area. Liverpool Pembroke Sefton are working with the NoEAA to try and ensure that the track is fully certified for the 2002 season.
