Mile End Stadium
The track was originally cinder and called King George V Stadium and then East London Stadium with NUTS Name London (EL). It was officially opened as a synthetic track on 9th September 1990 by Sir Arthur Gold and then became known as Mile End Stadium. The track surface is Spurtan BV which is a non-porous type. The infield is a grass football pitch and so HT training is not allowed in the winter. In 2003, the throwing cage and SP circle were moved so that the football pitch could be lengthened to allow senior football to be played at the stadium. In 2009, the long/triple runways were upgraded to a Mondo surface. The whole facility is managed by GLL.
