Alderman Kneeshaw Recreation Centre Track
This redgra track is the one referred to as Bilton Grange in the AW 1962 list of cinder tracks but is not in the 1956 list. It hosted the Yorkshire WAAA Champs in 1968 and the Northern Champs in 1977. The track is the base for Hull Spartan AC and it is in an ideal setting but has been totally blighted by vandalism and so is rather run down. There are no landing beds etc. and only one competition has been held here in the last 15 years or so - a Humberside Track League. Hull Spartan have their own small indoor training facility some 150 yards or so from the track but it is the only changing or storage facility in the vicinity of the track. There used to be a cycle velodrome track next to the track. There are tentative plans to replace this track with a training one adjacent to Hull Kingston Rovers ground on Greatfield Estate - part of the fields of the former Shakespeare Hall of Greatfield High School. The decision partly rests on whether the Hull clubs amalgamate as Hull City Council would like to see.
