The Recreation Ground Track
The Reckie is the local name for the Recreation Ground in Mountblow at the west end of Clydebank. The track has built immediately after the Second World War (i.e. about 1946). It was used for training until about 1960 when the full-size track at Whitecrook (now Clydebank Rugby Club) became available. It is a gravel track and at one time had fairly good field events facilities, particularly Pole Vault pits. The football pitch which the track surrounded was subsequently widened and dogs are walked on it. No one has run seriously on it during the last 30 years or more. It is now rather overgrown and there is only one visible lane although even this meanders a bit.
