The track is near the Sports Centre on the opposite side of the road to the runway. The track surface is redgra but is reported to be in poor condition. There are no plans for future development. It is the venue of Paul Mardle's 52.50 DT on 7th Jul 1979 which is in the UK all-time list. Two tracks at RAF Cranwell are mentioned in the AW 1962 list of cinder tracks but the two maybe a mistake. However the 2nd track may have been an indoor one as indoor meetings took place in Cranwell in the 1960s but the nature or exact location of the track used is unknown.
