Jersey Athletics Track
The track was officially opened in September 1987 by David Hemery and originally had a Polyflex 942 synthetic surface. It was resurfaced with Polytan PUR in 1996. Previously there was only a grass track at Les Quennevais on the island. F.B. is Florence Boot of the chemist family who donated the land the track is on for recreational purposes in the early 1900s. The track is reported to be fast mainly because it is very sheltered on all sides. The NUTS Name of the track was Jersey. The pictures are courtesy of Phil York.
