Bolton Arena Track
The track forms part of a new complex of sporting facilities called the Bolton Arena, the centrepiece of which is an indoor tennis centre. The arena facilties were built by Ballast Wiltshier at a cost of ?15 million with ?11.332M coming from the Lottery Sports Fund. The track was more or less completed in 2000 but the first meeting and official opening was held on 1st July 2001. Bolton Arena is part of the Middlebrook development and is next to the Reebok Stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers FC, which opened in 1997 and the extensive Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park.
