Additional Information
The track was upgraded from cinder to synthetic in about 1994 by Charles Lawrence Group plc. The track is on the grounds of the Crypt School but is surrounded by a high fence. The entrance to the track is via Poplar Close which is a turning of Laburnum Road which itself is a turning off Podsmead Road a few hundred yards north of the school. The track has been under review with changes to operation procedures and maintenance contracts. There have been major works carried out to the hammer cage and shot putt areas ensuring athletes have access to a quality facility.
