The track is in 1962 AW list of cinder tracks and is around the cricket pitch used by Hartlepool CC. Open and inter-county meetings etc. were held here in 1960s and BMC races and North Yorkshire & South Durham league matches into the early 1980s. A meeting is reported to have been held here as recently as 2 or 3 years ago (1996/7). However now (Jan 2000) the track is reported to be virtually unusable, has not been resurfaced for at least 10 years and all the changing facilities and toilets vandalised or burnt down.
