Victoria Park Arena
Originally there was a grass track in another area of the park. The track was moved to the current location before the Second World War and was also thought to be grass. It was subsequently upgraded to a shale cinder track and was definitely cinder by 1962. The track was upgraded to synthetic with 6 lanes all round in the early 1980s and then to 8 lanes in 1998 with reopening on 1st July. The stand doubles as an indoor activity centre with and includes a 19m x 11m multi-purpose room and a refreshment room. The track is managed by Warrington Borough Council, Environment and Regeneration Department, New Town House, Buttermarket Street, WARRINGTON, WA1 2NH. Their email address for enquiries is [email protected] and further details about the park can be found at www.warrington.gov.uk.
