Thornford Park (formerly USAF Greenham Common) Track
The track was built in 1987 and was originally part of the school attached to the USAF Greenham Common airbase which closed when the Americans left in the early 1990s. The land was sold on the understanding that Newbury AC could continue to have use of the track and is now part of Thornford Park which provides low-security private health care and is owned by Westminister Health Care. The track is in fairly good condition although some of the runways are rather weather-beaten and do not look to be used. The finish of the 110H is ten metres past the normal finish line as 100 and 110 metre races start at the same place. Meetings are not staged here. There used to be a uncovered bleacher type stand but this was removed in 2000 as it was unsafe. As of 2003, the host club have applied for a grant to upgrade the runways.
