In 2002 there were plans to build a track at Stratton Upper School in nearby Biggleswade but this was changed in 2004 to Sandy Upper School - a specialist sports college. Preliminary work commenced in July 2004 and the track is due to be ready for use by the end of August 2005. The local council has put up the full ?700K+ cost of the track.
